A Community Ideas Exchange Workshop was held on Wednesday, February 13th to officially kick off the planning process with the public. Over 150 community members attended this workshop.
A number of hands-on exercises allowed participants to share their thoughts on a range of topics related to how the Town will grow and how it should look and feel going forward.
The Town and the consultant team will use the input gathered during the workshop to hone in on the community's vision for the future. Feedback will help shape the big ideas for discussion at Planapalooza TM, that will be held February 28th -March 4th.
If you didn't get a chance to participate in the Community Ideas Exchange Workshop, please explore the tools below! Online surveys, forums, and a map exercise have been provided in conjunction with similar exercises conducted at the workshop.
The Town of Holly Springs, and the Triangle Region as a whole, is expected to growth significantly for many years to come. Government officials anticipate more than 13,000 new homes and 3.0 million square feet of new shopping centers, office parks, and industrial parks (combined into one square foot statistic) will want to develop in Holly Springs over the next ten to fifteen years. That is a lot of growth, and there needs to be a well-visioned plan for where everything might go!
Participants at the community workshop were asked to place LEGO® bricks on a map of Holly Springs to indicate preferred locations for future growth. The exercise used different color LEGO® bricks to represent places to live, shop, work, and play in the community. Now it’s your turn to play a simpler version of the same game online. Please click on the map to indicate places you would like to see the following:
Be sure to tell us why you think the location you picked is appropriate for the different types of development above using the comment field on the left. Feel free to upload a photo to go along with your comment. And, place as many dots as you like. There is no limit!
Your thoughts and opinions will be shared with the project team for developing the future land use map for Holly Springs that will be included in the comprehensive plan.
